Rainy Day Trains is in it's 11th year of business. It is owned and operated by John Sholtis, an avid train collector since the age of 4. John is known for his interest in Pre- and Post-War pieces.
The store is currently located on US Route 1 in Saco, Maine. It hosts a three tiered running layout which children of all ages love to watch! Additionally, the shop also has a Thomas area set up so that the little ones can entertain themselves while Mom's and Dad's shop!
You can almost always find some of the "Train Gang" about . . . these are men (and women too) who love trains and are part of the Rainy Day Train family. If John is busy with a customer, you might meet them! - Their knowledge and expertise surpass few!
John runs the store in a very relaxed manner. You won't find high pressure sales tactics here! What you will find, is someone who will ask you questions to ensure that you are getting what you want. And, John stands behind what he sells.
